Marisha Charbonnet (pronounced like Chardonnay), has a diverse legal background. Marisha began her legal career as a litigator and spent over a decade defending actions against global corporations involving personal injury, business disputes and general negligence claims. While she found litigation exciting and challenging, Marisha also found her role to be very reactionary as clients generally came to her after something negative had occurred. With a desire to provide legal guidance that is both proactive and designed to avoid conflict, Marisha determined that her legal skills were best used helping people plan for the future. Marisha's current practice is devoted to estate planning, probate and trust administration. Her expertise at navigating trust and estate issues on behalf of aging seniors, middle-aged individuals, young families, as well as those who have undergone a divorce or formed a blended family, is an asset to her clients. Marisha’s mission is to compassionately work with her clients to craft customized, innovative solutions to their unique family needs that deliver security and peace of mind.

As a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust & Probate Law by the State Bar of California, Marisha is a member of a small group of attorneys who hold this distinction.  In fact, less than 1% of all lawyers in California have been certified as specialists in estate planning, trust and probate law. This distinction is awarded to attorneys who have passed a comprehensive, competitive examination administered by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization and who have demonstrated a high level of expertise and been favorably evaluated by other attorneys and judges familiar with the attorney’s work.

Marisha graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with an undergraduate degree in English Literature and minor in Anthropology. While this satisfied her intellectual curiosity, her real passion is law. She earned her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School and drawing on her UCLA education, served as Articles Editor for the Loyola Law Review. Marisha also is a frequent speaker on estate planning issues at various community events, seminars, and on many area radio stations including K-EARTH 101and others.

Marisha is married to a Los Angeles City firefighter. They have a beautiful daughter and two miniature dachshunds.  She loves to travel, cook, go to the beach, and is involved in many non-profit organizations in the community.

Marisha provides legal services to clients throughout the Conejo Valley including Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, Newbury Park, Moorpark, Agoura Hills and Oak Park. She also works with families in Oxnard/Ventura, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles and adjacent communities throughout Southern California.
